Summer But things begin to clear. Seniors head for the beaches, mountains or lakes, and everyone is ready for summer. Days pass, hot and then hotter, burning away the past year. For some, it seems interminable, one long sticky day after another. But for others, school and it's activ- ities don't stop — it's summer school, workshops, camps and practices. All these give wings and hasten the action of time. Cooling off at the lake, parties, and summer jobs come to an end all too soon. One by one the breaths of summer are breathed, and with the final exhalations, it's back to school ... Winter ... As the wheel of life rotates, winter comes. The winds claim all but the best of autumn's memories. Favorite sports move inside. Foot- balls are traded for basketballs. We suffer the cold and the damp for a fleeting promise of snow; then Christmas, with its reds and greens, takes us through one dying year and into a new one, full of resolutions and promises. This new year greets us with enthu- siasm and challenge. For all seniors, '85 is not just another year. But to them, there is a special magic in the numbers. And though many years will pass and dull the things that have gone before, '85 will keep its kinship to those who claim it as their year. 3

Spring Events March, April, and May were three months to re- member. They were the months of the Senior Prom, Mayfest and Graduation. Mayfest, held April 11, was a success in many ways. It gave the students a chance to unwind and to partici- pate in events with other students, not to mention the funds that were raised for the school. Then on May 5, the Junior-Senior Prom was held. The juniors worked long hours to give the seniors something to remember their last prom by. It really turned out to be A Night to Remember. Finally, it was time for graduation. On May 31 seniors received their diplomas, turned their tassels, tossed their caps into the air, and were officially de- clared alumni of North wood.
