Cross Country The 1984-85 cross country team was once again coached by the knowledgeable Errol Roper. This year's team consisted of five female members. Coach Roper was surprised, yet pleased, at the girls' interest in running. He hopes that their inter- est will continue in future years. 'l The 1984 Chargers Track Team had their most successful season ever. Coach Errol Roper led the team to its first place finish in the conference, which is the only time this has ever happened! The team also set seven new school records. Finishing third in the Ledford relays in Thomasville was another accomplishment of this out- standing team. Special recognition should go to the following members who received All-Conference honors: Keith Alston, Reggie Baldwin, Thom- as Baldwin, Kenneth Blacknell, Har- vey Burnette, Tim Crabtree, Abdul Ghaffar, Eugene Smith, and Leander Strowd. 17
