r May 5, 1984, was truly a Night to Remember . The evening began at 8:00 with a formal greeting by faculty members. Students then passed under a flower-adorned archway and walked into a gigantic gazebo. After socializing, seeing who was with whom, examining dres- ses and tuxedos, and much danc- ing, students sampled the delicious finger foods and punch. Python, from 97 FM, provided the entertainment for the evening and proved to be a big success with the students. The prom officially ended at 12:00 a.m., but everyone knew the night was still young. Spring Events March, April, and May were three months to re- member. They were the months of the Senior Prom, Mayfest and Graduation. Mayfest, held April 11, was a success in many ways. It gave the students a chance to unwind and to partici- pate in events with other students, not to mention the funds that were raised for the school. Then on May 5, the Junior-Senior Prom was held. The juniors worked long hours to give the seniors something to remember their last prom by. It really turned out to be A Night to Remember. Finally, it was time for graduation. On May 31 seniors received their diplomas, turned their tassels, tossed their caps into the air, and were officially de- clared alumni of North wood.

Mayfest Mayfest 1984 turned out to be a super day despite the rumors that it would be a failure or would not take place at all. The day offered many activities for students. In the morning, bal- loon-a-grams were distributed by the Spanish Club. Later in the day, students could work out their frus- trations by participating in the car smash or writing on the graffiti board. Also during the day, many students and teachers found them- selves to be jailbirds in the stu- dent council jail. The highlight of Mayfest '84 was the second annual Mr. Northwood Contest in which Kenneth Blacknell was named the winner. Mayfest 7
