Seniors Dramatize Annual Class Play On November 7-9 Northwood's senior class presented Mister Roberts, written by Thomas Heggan and Joshua Logan. lt tells the story of Lieutenant Roberts, an officer on the cargo ship the U.S.S. Reluctant, his conflict with the dictorial captain, and his desire to be in active warfare. Andy Gabrilovitch assumed the lead role of Mister Roberts. Because of his popularity with the crew, his welfare was their constant concern. Brian Kinsey's assumed Boston accent aided his convincing performance as the captain. Dave Gordon's successful portrayal of the ship's doctor required concen- tration on the slowed actions of a middle-aged man. Mike Hamlin assumed the role of the blundering Ensign Pulver, and Nan Swiger and Gail Schuldenfrei played the only female parts. With the assistance of faculty director Mr. Steve Sobelman, student director Karen Karl and stage manager Joanne Shnitzer saw that each committee carried out its specific duty. The strong support given to the directors by the stage crew, committees in charge of props, costumes, sets, make-up, lighting, and sound aided in making Mister Roberts a great success.
