Northwood Displays Lively Homecoming Despite Northwood's defeat by Montgomery Blair, the tremendous spirit displayed throughout the year still prevailed at the Homecoming game. Spirit Week started off with Crazy Tie and Hat Day, followed by a Psychedelic Day and a Bed and Black Day. Snoopy Day, inspired by this year's Homecoming theme, Happiness is Homecoming, turned out to be a favorite. Throughout the week, students purchased red colored bagels, otherwise known as Spirit Rings, at the main entrance. Activities of Spirit Week climaxed with a pep rally on the evening before the game, followed by a funeral for the crushed Blazer. Saturday's game was an exciting one in spite of the defeat. During half-time, senior Peg Cole, the newly named Home- coming Queen, attracted all the attention. She presided over her new Court, which consisted of sophomores Deetsie Chrapaty and Nancy Baspet, juniors Barbara Daly and Melanie Strachan, and seniors Linda Sinopoli and Dale Ricucci. High- lighting the Homecoming dance, Anne Raines crowned Peg Cole as 1968 Homecoming Queen. Cheerleader Ann Song leads Northwood students in a cheer during the pep rally in the main court the Friday before the Homecoming game. as ' is QP :eff , s,..
