Team captain and leading singles player Mike Binder executes a serve. 122 Sports i Netmen Unbeatable ln County Matches Using a lot of veteran players, the Tennis team at Northwood had a victorious season. Excellent play by seniors Mike Binder, Jeff Hershey, and Mike Kelenson, and Gary Schindler, a transfer student, led the netmen in league play. After last year's win of the Eastern Division, many of the stars graduated, but the improved play of the seniors and the unexpected acquisition ofa transfer student bolstered a team many thought was weak. Beating Gaithersburg in a practice match was a good omen for the team's performance throughout the season. Playing as doubles partners for the second year in a row, junior Glenn Fell and Jeff Hershey worked well together, proving the old adage that experience is very important to winning.
