Scenes such as this took place at train stations, bus depots, and airports on the first day of school. Besides sponsoring New Student Week, Wildcat Council and its 56 members carried on campus tours for visitors, ushered at university functions, wrote letters to freshmen boys during the summer, and held a Day at Northwestern, for high school sen- iors interested in Northwestern. 1 . .
