Departing from the design of former years, the SYLLABUS of 1938 hopes to por tray the character of Northwestern more clearly and more distinctly to the students, the alumni, and the friends of the University. Using the Lalce, our most beautiful asset, as the background, we have divided the bool: into three divisions: the MORNING, the AFTERNOON, and the EVENING. Under each heading we have put those events which, for the most part, talce place during that specific period. We have attempted to maintain that dignity which is Northwestern's but still to secure that lightness of style which tends for interest and beauty of design. As its name signifies, this is a SYLLABUS of the activities of the serious and friv- olous moments of our university year of 1936-37 ........ ln later years may this bool: bring baclc these memories. .
