ROBERT EMMET DUNNE Knobby Dunne speaks with feeling of New York, Myra, Mr. Meier, Notre Dame, Ireland, and the Shiel Club. He has the dubious distinction of having a head of hair that has never been stirred out of its chaos by the action of comb or brush. With John Brunelli as a partner Knobby attempted to cover all of Chicago in his adventures, but succeeded only indifferently. Whatever his Monday morning tales lacked in truth, they made up for in color. And if no one intervened quickly enough, Knob would at any time persuade himself to display his abilities on the nearest piano. A piano player of questionable talent but undeniable gusto, Knobby knows more variations of chop- sticks than any other living man. Beavers are his pet aversion, especially the eager type. For this reason he accepted the job of lst battalion sereamer with the greatest reluctance, bowing to the inevitable only when be realized that all he would have to do was yell out orders from the High Command twice a day. His innocently maddening questions have reduced more than one instructor to complete idiocy. Wrestling is his hobby, but, unlike many of his classmates, he never did any of it on Saturday nights. He believes that doors were made just for him to slam, that speaking in a normal tone ol' voice is a sign of weak mindedness, that radio song birds want audience participation, and that liangorn, Pa. is best in the U.S.A. Unfortunately Walter practices what he believes and during his N.U. Naval career made life for his buddies somewhat similar to life inside a boiler factory. When issuing commands to his platoon, an unin formed observer might easily take it for granted that he was ordering around a battalion some four or live miles up the road. Gotha has his hands full wielding an iron list over the band and assorted V-12's. At present, Russ is attempting to learn the esoteric game of bridge so that he'll have something to do besides telling sea stories.

Starting off as a normal Chicago youth, Bill grew up and became a yoeman. He and his temperamental right arm helped the Phi Psi softball team through a vicious schedule. Another subject of Charlie McGour'ty's caustic ribbing, Will was dubbed Squirrel Teeth. However even the great Clrarlie shut his yap when Will began to refer to him in public as Copper Tooth. liill and the little Charmers found each other mutually agreeable and so we had another lover in our midst. With a ping-pong paddle in his hand and a bottle of wave-set in his pocket, Willie Hamilton, pride and joy of Great Lakes yoeman's school, will soon be on the bounding main.
