We awoke by alarm clocks and met another day. Natchitoches and Louisiana, Rapides and Sabine, were soon known as our homes away from home. We studied some, and slept even less. But, the other times . . . well they were sometimes something else . . . card marathons, phone conversations, running from room to room, stereos and radios, TV ' s and tape players, hair dryers and showers, 12:00 curfews, minors and restrictions, roommates and suitemates: adjustment — confusion — excitement. . . . dorm life. .
