SIGMA SIGMA SIG A On April 20, 1898, the first chapter of Sigma Sigma Sigma was founded at Farmville, Vir- ginia. It is one of the two charter members of the Association of Education Sororities. Al- pha Zeta Chapter of Sigma Sigma Sigma was established on February 17, 1928. Since that time one hundred and thirty-five girls have been initiated into the chapter. It is the aim of the organization to promote close friendship within the small group without impairing the relations of its members with non-members. Alpha Zeta is proud of its record since its es- tablishment at the Louisiana State Normal College. [ 162]

Her activities, celebrations, entertainments, and efforts are all directed toward her open motto, The Higher Good. The national aim of Theta Sigma Upsilon is ' to produce women that are noted for their sagacity, simplicity, sincerity, stability, and sym- pathy. Kappa is proud of her record for the year 1938-39.
