W. S. VANCE, Professor of Eng- lish is relatively new at Northwest- ern. Coming in 1946, Mr. Vance has since taught a full schedule of English courses as well as being a sponsor of the Ranger Annual the last two years. He has an A.B. de- gree from Baylor Universityg an A.M. from Harvard University and a Ph.D. from the University of Chicago. MISS GLADYS JULIAN, Assist- ant Professor of English, came to Northwestern in 1945. Miss Julian has an A.B. degree from North- western State College and an M.A. from George Peabody College. MISS BENNIE HENRY has been Assistant Professor of English since 1938. Her degrees of study in- clude an A.B. from the University of Oklahoma and an M.A. from Columbia University.
