Winter afternoon activity at Majestic Hills was quite heavy this season. Mother Nature pro- vided the base, and avid cadets stormed the big hill with skis, poles. and enthusiasm. Although not really an organized sport, some skiers were as regular to Majestic as to the dining hall. Among these were Jack and Alan Moon, Bob Chamberlain. Carl Behrens, John Kroeger, and Peter Hellman. Mr. Ed Van Gorder daily supervised cadet goings on at Majestic, standing by with splints and liniment bottles. On the campus, the corps made use of the long winter to romp around and have battalion snow- ball fights. Tobogganning was done by some on the hills back of the dump, while others enjoyed the lake and skating. Some daring souls even skated to Lake Geneva! Labor detail had a full snow shoveling job all winter lt would be hard to say whether the corps was thankful or regretful when the last patches of snow melted and the lake ice broke up Northwestern s National Rifle As oclatlon Chapter had a ood year The S7 cadets shot for fun enjox ment and improv ement of scores The Chapter had the follmsm officers this sear Pre ldent lax Tack Yice President Vllke Darlm Evcecutne Karl Lundquist Treasurer John NI Harrln ton Coached hx NVQ t Frun John on the N R A participated in the 14th Corps postal match and took ith place ln the mtercompam match B Compam mon the Lewis Intercompans 'Vlarksmanshm Trophx 55 .
