In spite of the drizzle that lasted all day, it proved to be a very successful clean-up day. Over 300 students, free from classes for the day, and all of the faculty members turned out in their oldest work clothes to carry out the many tasks set up by various committees. Among the many odd jobs, there are raking, shoveling, painting, cutting of trees and hauling of brush. A new parking lot was created by some hardy boys and our new bulldozer, under the management of whoever could Ggure out how to run it. Trees were also planted on the patios and spreading of gravel and dirt, done mostly by some ambitious girls, helped to make the basis for our future sunken gardens. A hearty meal was served by the College Council in the new cafeteria and after a soaking afternoon of work, everyone turned out in full for a dance, also in the cafeteria. 57
