Vets Club President: Spencer McAllister Vice President: Donald Hatfield Secretary-Treasurer: Alice Kalchick Faculty Advisor: Mr. Rogers The Veterans Club of N.M.C. was founded by james Leffew in the fall term of 1956. All veterans of N.M.C. are members of the club. At the present time there are 52 members. The club has been active in college functions, especially in raising funds for the benefit of the college. Since its inception it has contributed approximately 351000 to the College Building Fund. This was done primarily by selling chances on a Model A Ford which is scheduled to be an annual function of the club. Besides raising money, the club has sponsored the Spring Picnic, college dances, and this year is having a Beard-Growing Contest. 46

The purpose of this society is to further the understanding of the methods, current techniques, research, and application of psy- chology of interest to the members of the society. The Society has sponsored some movies during free hours, dances on Weekend nights and has had some renowned speakers on the different phases of psychology. 45

Conservation Club President: Dick Helfrich Secretary-Treasurer: John lflfalkley Advisor: Mr, Rogers The local chapter of the Conservation Club, under the advisorship of Mr. Rogers, was organized in 1955 as a chapter of the Soil Conservation Society of America. Its main program is to carry out projects in general conservation and to stimulate student activities on campus. As a part of this club's projects, some ecology trails on the campus have been marked and last year the trees and plants on the N.M.C. campus were labeled. 47
