Lines such as Charlotte is our dear friend and we wish her well or Mary is the clever one were constantly on their lips. The play required much work and preparations. Lines had to be learned, props to be constructed, and costumes to be designed and made. The long weeks of hectic practices and preparations were rewarded on November 4 and 5. Did any of the cast or stage crew really believe that the performances could possibly be a success? ' Yet, despite stage fright and nervousness, they were well received. 1 1 I ,v gg Q: of f 52,5 . The editors planned the book page by page and prepared the foreword and dedication. The photography committee scheduled times for group pictures to be taken and also snapped informal shots of everyday school life. The lit- erary committee prepared write-ups on the individual seniors. The financial managers had the task of recording all funds received by patronage and subscription. The typists prepared the material to be sent to the publishers. The artist prepared the artwork involved with the theme of wheels. Individual staff members were assigned activity and athletics Write-ups. The Whole staff discussed ways of improving the book and assisted in organizing all the material into an interesting and informative book. The staff also sold candy to supplement the funds obtained from patrons and subscriptions. This was the job of the 1966 Yearbook Staff. Girls start practicing at a young age to become cheerleaders and it is the dream of most young girls to represent our school as one. They must develop skill and have a voice which carries over the yelling of a large crowd. Each year, under the direction of Miss Miles, the sixteen positions of our cheerleading squad must be chosen. This means that previous cheerleaders have to compete against rivals to hold their important job. There are close to two weeks of practicing and stiff competition among about fifty girls to Win the honor of representing our school. Wrestling is the sport of the individual. No team effort is required for each bout. When a boy steps out on the mat he is alone and must prove to himself that he can win against another of his own weight. Such a sport not only builds a person physically but prepares him to think for himself and be a man. Experience and determination is what counts. When Northwestern started its wrestling squad last year under Mr. Civitts and Mr. Morgan, three other schools also had their first year. This year we beat all three of those schools which had experience equal to ours. With time and more practice Northwestern is sure to have one of the best wrestling squads in this area. 96 F i l Exhibition Team FIRST ROW: C. Harter, L. German, B. Hamm, P. Witmer, B. Bachman, J.
