'X ! FOREWORD We, the staff of the 1958 edition of the Reverie, have tried to show in this volume the significance and importance of this, the first high school in the Northwestem School District. By means of our yearbook, we have tried to acquaint the public with the idea of a high school existing in this school district. Just as the high school is a first, so the yearbook in itself is another first. Athird, and to us, most important first, is the fact that this year Northwestem graduated its first Senior Class--our class. We have produced our yearbook in order that, as we go on in life, we may have a pictorial and written record of our final, exciting year together. From our first years in the little red school house, we have built our hopes and dreams toward this climax, our senior year. As we look through the Reverie, we enjoy many fond memories of our life at Northwestem. . To those who leave this school, we hope that this Reverie will recall all that is best, of both the serious and light sides of high school life. To those who remain behind, we hope that this book may be an incentive in making the future of Northwestem High School a bright one, and that the Reveries of the years to come may record equally happy scenes. .10 lf' DEDICATICN V.-4' 3 Miss Grace M. Moore 3 We, the graduating class of 1958, are proud to dedicate this first edition of the Reverie to Miss Grace M. Moore, teacher of English and Latin. We will always remember Miss Moore for ably serving as advisor of the Reverie. It was because of her unceasing assistance that we were able to assemble the book with a minimum of difficulty. Last year Miss Moore assisted us in the same capacity by acting as literary advisor of the first volume of the Gold Leaf. The seniors wish also to extend their thanks and appreciation for her guidance in the junior and senior plays. Because of all the help Miss Moore has given the Senior Class, we will always associate her with our years at Northwestem High School. TABLE OF CONTENTS ADMINISTRATION. . . SENIORS ....... We wish to take this opportunity to show our appreciation to the group of people who make possible a smoothly run educational program. This is the School Board, which takes care of the many major and minor problems not only of organizing but also of running a new school. So, to these people, who have contributed so much more to our school than we realize, we, the Class of '58, wish to extend our deepest and most heartful thanks for their cooperation and continuous efforts. 12 sENloRs , ,E M., gr' -W We 'i' Aw-t., -1 .-a Leaders for the Class of '58 were chosen in the junior year. Leonard Acker was elected as our capable President. Ted Loder was chosen as his efficient assistant. Jan Werley was selected for the job of taking notes and keeping all records. Darlene Phillips has kept all the figures and accounts balanced. Mrs. C. Kerschner and Mr. A. W. Rex helped guide and advise the red and white. The Class of '58 made an excellent choice when they elected these people to guide them. They had to over- come the difficulties of forming one unit of the factions from the different schools. We certainly owe them a vote of thanks for making our last year a successful one. 14 KARYL ANN HARTMAN New Tripoli Academic Naturally wavy hair . . . loves dancing and ice-skating . . . neat . . .tall, graceful brunette . . . contagious giggle . . .ex- cellent actress . . . loves CMP's . . . future nurse.--Activities: Library Club President 3,45 GAA President 35 FHA 45 FNA 45 Chorus 35 Class Play 3,45 Homeroom Vice- President 4.
