During the years 1954-1955, many of this year's graduates saw the first light of day. At this same time, plans were com- pleted for construction of a new high school. Together we grew, but the time draws near for the best of friends to part. Our school will painfully die away, but we seniors have to move onward to achieve our chosen pursuits and higher goals in life. Sixteen years ago as the doors opened for the first time, three hundred and fifty students entered the unfinished build- ing, which upon completion, would hold four hundred and fifty. Our time arrived for us to enter high school, anxiously and apprehensive we infiltrated this building. As NHS has aged, the halls have become crowded as the enrollment has more than doubled. Although this building has endured many trials and tribulations, it is no longer suitable for accommodating the greater number of students of this area. Northwestern High School must end but a new school will replace it, and the cycle of progress continues onward. Through the pages of this yearbook we wish to journey with our beloved Panther,' on his final stalk down these hallowed halls in the hope of reliving the nostalgic memories that are held captive.
