Steady progress for twenty-liye years has marked the course ol the only grade-room which still remains in its original location. Miss Yyn. who succeeded Miss .Xllyg the first principal, in lflltl, is still counselor lor the House. lihe spinning wheel standing in the corner of the room and printed on all house stationery is the ofhcial symbol. and on this wheel, each retiring president hangs her colors before handing her gayel to her successor. VERNUN PERSHING CRATES ASTERIOU DICK CASKEY BILL DAVID EDWARD GUNN PERSHING HOUSE During the twenty-live years upon which Northwestern looks back with justiliable pride, l'ershing House has always held an outstanding position. Located in room ll0, it has long had a reputation for high scholarship and stellar athletic achievement. The modern Pershing House is successor to the old, pre-war Marshall House which changed its name to honor General Pershing. A letter from the General in acknowledge- ment of this recognition now hangs upon its walls. XVithin recent years. the House has starred intra-mural athletics in winning perma- nently the intra-mural athletic plaque. It has one of the largest honor rolls and has produced many prominent students. Much ol the credit for Pershing's success, how- ever, must go to Mr. Cl. N.
