Gridders Record Sixth Consecutive Winning Season The 1979 football team's 4-4-1 record was the sixth consecutive winning season for the Wildcats, a school record. Senior tailback Al McClymonds also established a new individual school record for career scoring with 132 points. As a team, the Wildcats were defensive mind- ed. They yielded just 67 points, the third lowest defensive total in Northwestern's 21 year history.
