ina .Saiclfnaf Miss Spicknall came to Northwestern as our Senior Guidance Counselor eight years ago. Since then she has been kept very active helping seniors with their career plans and college choices. This year alone she held conferences with 540 seniors. Another activity of hers is co-sponsoring the Future Nurses of America and The National Honor Society. Miss Spicknall attended the University of Mary- land where she received both an A.B. and M.A. degree. . gAOAZ Mr. John Maholtz, the junior Class Counselor, devoted his energy and time to talk to each junior about his schedule for the coming year and his future plans. Also, any student could have made an appoint- ment with him to discuss personal problems. Northwestern has always been proud of the work Mr. Maholtz does with the golf team and Student Council. Mr. Maholtz graduated from the University of Pennsylvania and has a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Education Degree. iw Zkcmeg The faltering footsteps of our sophomores were guided by Miss Katheleen Rehanek, our new counselor. In previous years, Miss Rehanek was an outstanding girls' physical education teacher. Miss Rehanek attended both West Virginia Uni- versity and Maryland University where she finished with a B.S. and M.S. degree. For the past eight years she has been the sponsor of Northwestern's Bowling League. . il B- ii

'B-.,, I j . X.,- 1 Q ra... ra., Formerly a Senior Math Review teacher at North- western, Mr. Glenn Diggs was appointed this year as vice-principal in charge of buildings, ground, and attendence. Mr. Diggs attended Randolph-Macon College in Ashalnd, Virginia, and the University of Maryland where he received his Bachelors and Masters Degree of Education. When away from school, Mr. Diggs can be found relaxing either by swimming or fishing. WP. fg ilad Mr. Edward Phillips has been an active and vital part of Northwestern since 1951. He was a chemistry teacher until 1957 when he became vice-principal. Last spring he ran our school efncienrly as acting principal. Mr. Phillips received his Bachelor of Science Degree at California State Teachers College and his Masters Degree at the University of Maryland. He also attended Pennsylvania State University. Mr. Phillip's spare time is spent with pursuing his favorite hobby, gardening. 4 Wir. Jigga Mr. Henry Nary has been a vice-principal at Northwestern since September of 1958. Being in charge of the curriculum and instructional develop- ment of the school, he had the enormous task of scheduling 2,000 students and faculty in their daily classes. For relaxation from these duties Mr. Nary enjoys gardening, reading, and sports. Mr. Nary graduated from Hofstra College and the University of Maryland. He holds,his Bachelor of Science and Masters degree.

The main ofhce, with its many secretaries, as- sistants, and administrators, transacts all the business pertaining to our school. MRS. KLEIMAN and MRS. FELTER keep per- manent record cards of each pupil, type the daily bul- letin, and attend to the clerical business of our principal and vice-principals. The assistants are pupils in the school who help by typing up report cards, recording tardinesses, han- dling the switchboard, distributing mail, and running errands. The office is the headquarters for all school activities, serving the students throughout the year. Ozfer and Over Again goes the ditto machine operated by I.. Gifford and S. Kenyon.
