Northwestern not only offers courses in Spanish, Latin, and lfreneh. hut encourages its students to learn some- thing of the eultures lvehind these languages. Latin III was joined this year hy two additional third-year lan- guage elasses-Spanish Ill and Freneh lll. Exchange programs at Northwestern permit North- westernites hoth to travel and aet as hosts to foreign guests. Nliss Ann Putnam here and Senor Gahina Palma in Nlexieo ffity sponsor the Mexican Exchange Club. Northwestern students who partieipate in this cluh enter- tain Mexican exchanges during the winter months and, in return, receive a trip to Mexico City in the summer. A scholarship was initiated this year to finance two students' fares to Mexico. The American Field Service program. sponsored by Mrs. Betty lirunstein and Mr. I,eo lfinegan. sends a for- eign student to Complete his senior year at Northwestern. Wie were privileged to weleome two students. Nelida Kreer of Uruguay, and Airi Mit-ttinen of Finland, to spend their senior year with us.
