Team Makes a Name Virtually unknown until this fall. North- western ' s soccer team finally made a name for itself nationally. They ranked third in the nation with an 11-3 record and were awarded All-American Honors, Bill Schobrich, Tim Monlzka and Lee Nyquist also received All-District and All- Conference honors. With a majority of the team members returning next year, Coach Bill Crawford can expect another successful season. For now, the Bobs are training in California, so the National Championship is just a let- terbuck away, a 1 Front Row, Left to Right: O. Willis, |. Stem, D. Chevalier, L Krieger, 8. Anderson, L. 1984 Upper Midwest Conference Champions The 1984 football season is one that will be remembered for a long time by coaches, players and Ians. This year ' s team, led by captains Kevin Burns, David Quebodeaux and Jim Spock, proved to be a very enthusiastic squad. Encouragement among the players proved to be a big part in the team s successful season, with twins Wayne and Jim Straub providing the greatest amount of it. The Eagles started the season with a vic¬ tory over Augsburg and went on to win 7 out of their 9 season games, (the second best record in the 12 years of NWC Foot¬ ball.) Their biggest defeat was handed to them by Lomas College, and their biggest victory was the upset of Pills!jury with a score of 53-0, Northwestern finished the season with an unblemished 6-0 conference record, and clinched the Upper Midwest Con¬ ference Championship by defeating a pesky Ml. Senario team 23-2 1 tooth, ill 21
