Special work in live stock judging has been given outside of the regular scheduled classes, and great interest and enthusi- asm has been shown by the students in this work. Superintendent Selvig appreciating the great value of the knowledge of live stock judging, pre- sented to the school a beautiful silver cup as a trophy to the class win- ning the annual stock judging contest. The tryouts for the stock judging teams were held on February I6, and teams were selected to 1 . , 2 V SENIOR STOCK JUDGING TEAM. Stenseth, Kirkeby, Skyberg, Flaat. represent the Advanced, Senior and Junior classes. The judging teams jour- neyed to the Carlson farm at Erskine for the first an- nual cl-ass, stock judging contest, which was held March 6. Early during the year arrangements were made with the Central School of Agriculture of St. Paul, the West Central School of Morris, the North Dakota Agricultural College, the Winnipeg Agricultural Col- lege and this school for an interstate Stock Judging Contest. Prof. A. H. Larson is in charge of the debating class work, and has also been appointed as school debating coach. Interest in debating was further stimulated by Supt. C. G. Selvig upon his presenting to the school a beautiful silver loving cup as a trophy to the Literary Society winning the intersociety debate three suc- cessive years. The Selvig Cup debates are to be made a feature of the Commencement Program each year. The following debating schedule has been arranged for the present year: February 8-Dual debate with North Dakota School of Science, Wahpeton. March I8-Dual debate with West Central School of Agriculture, Morris, Minn. March 27- Selvig Cup debate. Pioneer vs. Lincoln Club Debating teams.
