Duties other than helping students maintain schedules that will al- low them to graduate include compiling schedules, and main- taining files of tran scripts, grades, and other intlividual rec- ords. Promotion, public relations, recruit- ment, extension, and placement are the pri- mary concerns of Di- rector of Field Serv- ices, Everett W. Brown. Mr. Brown also gives valuable service to the college as he assists during spring contests, par- ents ' and senior days, and as he chaperons departmental trips. Education, as you are experiencing it. may seem somewhat nonessential, ambiguous, and apart from your chosen goals. But concern yourself well with that aspect of intelligence which in essence is the application of what you know and have ex- perienced: the successful ' solution of problems you will meet as you attempt an adequate adjusting to life. DiKECTOR OF mm ACTIVITIES Coordinating the campus calendar is only one of the important duties of Miss Lois Simons. Miss Simons assists campus organizations in extra curricular and social activities and she also serves as advisor to the Union Board and the Social Committee. wm OF 11 The supervising of men ' s housing, scheduling of men ' s labor, and the counseling of men falls on the very capable shoulders of Mr. Lon Wilson. Mr. Wilson is also a sponsor of the Inter-Fraternity Council, and the Superintendent of buildings and grounds. Miss Pearl Daw- son, Horace Mann Nurse, and Mrs. Thelma Smith. Col- lege Nurse, are very much concerned with the health and wel- fare of all the persons associated with the college. HEALTH m mum Mrs. Elizabeth Luer serves as Resi- dence Hall House- mother and she is also in charge of wo- men ' s housing at the college. Mrs. Ruth Burke serves as college Dieti- tian, planning and supervising the meals served at the Union. 16
