GAA - Intramurals iiiim The GAA or Girls' Athletic Association participated not only in the school intramural program, but also in swimming at the Y . , X... f,,, X 1 963 Track Team Mr. Knight's track hopefuls for this year group together for their yearbook picture. As this book went to print, it was still not known if the team would be another Winner. But from results in early practices, the boys looked good. Seen on these pages are pictures of some of the boys getting acquainted with their events. BELOW LEFT: Jim Keen, Butch Donaldson, Robin Eaton, and Jerry Bailey take a close look at the pole vault height which Coach Schwartz said must be cleared in order to stay in city competition. Meanwhile, BELOW RIGHT: Angelo Hewitt, Don Stephenson, and Rick a Ramey take a similar approach to the high jump bar. On the next page surrounding the five track coaches, Mr. Stotts, Mr. Johnson, Mr. Schwartz, Mr. Knight, and Mr. Faerber are several other track hopefuls. Across the top are Sam McCaston, Ralph Noland, and Butch Donaldson, prospective hurdlersg and Bill Paradise and Alan Worthey practicing a handoff for a relay event. Almost beat Northeast, but they won 46 to 41-another heartbreaker. End of first semester. Grade cards, we start anew. Got back our winning ways over Argentine 31 to 20. Ran over West 38 to 19. Nor'wester time again. Finally beat Central 31 to 24, jubilation at Northwest. FEBRUARY Last game of the year and we beat Coronado 42 to 22. K,U. Assembly on the FBI ' Faculty beat the varsity as cheerleaders caught kidnapping. Nor'wester ' End of fourth six-weeks. ' 4 MARCH Grade cards again 4 Gym show matinee after so manyprac- tices ' Gym Show Gym Show-finally it's over with thanks to the teachers and as always, to Mrs. Sigg. .
