It was a real good year. Doubts Diminished Northwest entered the 1980-81 basketball season with plenty of optimism. With only two returning starters, many had doubts. Those doubts were soon forgotten when the Vikings won seven of their first ten games. The team gained much more confidence when they defeated .Aurora (58-54) in the conference tournament, the first time since 1976. They again downed Aurora in regular season (53-41). The third time wasn ' t the charm though as Aurora brought the Viking season to an end at 14-8. The captions are quotes from the four seniors, John Bauer, Dave Blake.
