Fire Up The pep nillics helped to add spirit throughout the school year to eicry sports event. Students would enter the gym waiting for a coach to present an exciting pep talk, and to observe the Vikettes and Cheerleaders perform a skit to raise the school ' s spirit. The Viking Band also added a special touch at the end with the school song. Kris Roby. Brenda Ostermeier, Lesa Mettenbrink, and Sandi Maxwell prepare to do a skit for the student body. The 1980-81 Cheerleaders start the pep rally with a cheer. Focusing in . . . The Photo Club program is set up for darkroom techniques and journalism use as training and general knowledge for the years to come. At the first meeting members learn the basics of darkroom work and sign up to use the darkroom in pairs after school during the week to enlarge and develop film. A Year at the Top With a record of 7-2, the Varsity Football team finished with the best record since S ' W has joined the Central Ten Conference. The J. V. s had a good overall year with a final record of 4-1. Morthwest used the new overtime rule to their advantage twice this year. The J. V. ' s beat Aurora 6-0 in OT. The Varsity finished the season with a 28-20 OT win over Albion. Players named to conference teams were: John Swanson. Todd Olson. Brent Karley. Scott Redwine. Dave Blake.
