Honoring NW Outstanding Northwest students were honored May 4 lit the Honors Convocation in the Learning Center. Honor roll and perfect attendance certificates were handed out to those respective students by Mr. Luther. New members of National Honor Society were introduced by Miss Harris while Miss Wessel announced the new Thespian members. Mr. Beck and Mr. Bickford recognised those Seniors receiving scholarships and a wards. They also presented gold medals to the top ten percent of the Senior Class. These students and the next five percent along with their parents were honored at a banquet hosted by the Chamber of Commerce. The guest speaker for the banquet was Dick Kimbrough from the admissions office at Doane College. John Reher receives one of many honors. The top Sen percent of the Senior Class was honored with medallions. Lori Boltz receives her last high school honor. All the students wail patiently as the counselors hand ihcm their well-earned medals. 72 Sherri Chrislenscn is pleased as she receives her Thespian ' s Award.

FFA Grows Strong The Future Farmers of America had a new sponsor this year. Mr. Dolnicek. Many of the same members and activities like selling fruit and the annual donkey basketball game have been continued throughout the 1980-81 school year.
