A Change for the Better April 24 - Northwest High School Students changed out of their jeans, t-shirls. and tennis shoes into tuxes and long dresses for the Junior-Senior Prom. The Liederkranz was decorated in shades of blue streamers, stars, and a winding stairway to the ceiling. Stairway to Heaven was the theme chosen with Madgic as the band. King Bob Lewis and Queen Jackie Rauert were attended by Bev Lau, Jennifer Chapman, John Bauer, and Jeff Hayes. L-R: Bev Lau. Jennifer Chapman, Jackie Rauert. Bob Lewis. John Bauer. Jeff Hayes. The setting for the musical was I8S0 Siam when the King hires an English governess to teach his children and wives. A story within the musical was The Small House of Uncle Thomas . Masks and mime faces gave the oriental charm to the story. Curt Gehman showed dedication when he shaved his head to portray the King. During a festive moment, the King of Siam learns from his English governess how to dance the polka. 1-2-3 and 1-2-3 and 1-2-3 and. The King, among his favorite wives claims, It ' s a puzzlement ' Kim Gates, portraying Anna, lakes advantage of getting to know her students. 69
