Pep Band adds to Spirit Club. Spirit Club Lifts NW This year much spirit was gained because of the awesome athletic teams. This group helped cheer on four teams to State; cross country, the volleyball team, girls basketball team and four wrestlers. Busy year for Band The Northwest Viking Band under the direction of Charles kick had a busy year participat- ing in the Harvest of Harmony Parade and the Melody Round- up. They traveled to the Hast- ings College Campus to compete in a concert contest. The band also took a trip to the Denver and Estes Park, Colorado area where they pre- sented musical concerts in city parks and demonstrated their talents. Drum Majorette Nancy Mader. A Busy Year for Choir This year. Choir has been very busy, from par- ticipating in the Musical to putting on concerts. During the year they were busy in a State Music Clinic held at Senior High. The sophomores went to Gothenburg and A ' cappella had an exchange concert with Senior High. This year six students made All-State chorus; Curt Gehman, Gian Baxter, and Scott Redwine were second year students. .Attending for the first time were Kim Gates, Janice Roth, and Lisa Bredthauer. Swing Choir is back with eleven members. They per- formed ten times during the year. Not only did they sing but they also added dance moves to the songs. Mr. Koller started a music education class. He hopes it will teach students a little more about reading music. The choirs were also very busy with fund raisers this year.
