The Varsity girls en- joyed one of the best seasons yet for a girl ' s basketball team at North- west. The Lady Vil ings, with a final record of 14-6, were a very young team and proved that they could work together under pres- sure. The high point of the season was the York game in which the Vikes beat York for the first time. The second win against York put the Vikings in the finals where they met Aurora and were unable to gain a victory. And as the old saying goes, Every cloud has a silver lining, so was the case of the loss to Aurora which gave the girls their first runner-up trophy.
