They worked hard and they were intelligent. ' They had a goal in mind as far as a winning season and they went after it. Coach Hayes ' freshmen team had a super season, with a record of 5-1. This year, the freshmen team voted on several different awards. They voted Jim DeMary as Most Valuable Player. Jeff Baxter and Jeff Sheeks were voted Team Captain. Other awards were Offensive Leader Brad Elkins, and Defensive Leader Jeff Sheeks. Troy Spencer was named Most Improved. The captions are quotes from Coach Norm Hayes.
