Cheerblock is a big help to cheerleaders and their vocal chords, especially when our fans seemed too intensely interested in the game to cry the familiar chants. The cheerblock leads the spectators in cheering and promotes good sports- manship of fans. Members also encouraged school spirit. The six reserve, four freshman cheerleaders, Silverettes and pom pom girls, are members of the cheer block and often help out with the hand jives and other cheers familiar to all Pioneers. 54
