Working on projects connected with Indiana History are History Club officers, Marsha Kriegbaum, Katrina Shipley, president, and Carol Wdowka. Leading the International Club were lose Sanchez, Esther Hanig, R. Mormance, and C. Thompson. History Club studies Statehood celebration Indiana history and social sciences have been the topic of discussion for this year's History Club mem- bers. Since this year marks of the 150th year of state- hood for Indiana, the club has studied state history thoroughly and sold license plates with a sesqui- centennial theme as a profit-making campaign. His- tory Club also participated in the Junior Historical Society Convention at Mfashington High School. International Club has also studied history during the past year. However, the International Club studied the history, customs, culture and people of foreign lands. Looking at this year's dummy are co editors-in-chief of the Van- guard, seniors Dennis Harrold and Sandi Weaver. Vanguard summarizes Second year events Brains behind the scenes . . . Members of the publications department have worked since last May preparing the 1965 Vanguard. Co-editors Sandi Weaver and Dennis Harrold guided the staff in its effort to do a good job collecting pictures, captions, activities and headlines that were necessary for tl1e book. The staff was divided into several groups, each under an editor. Each editor, one each for pictures, copy, activities, faculty, sports, album-index, and patrons was responsible for seeing that his staff met all deadlines and turned in good work. Local industrial trips Encourage scientists Science Club students put their interest and know howy' to use by taking on projects such as growing bacteria cultures and planning a space flight. Other activities included a field trip to the Butler Conservatory and visits to the Poweraina, Eli Lilly, and Chicago. Members of the Conservation Club found nature and its habitats very rewarding. The object of this club is to learn how to conserve natural resources such as plants, animals, man, and soil.
