Careers, sportrnanship Help Pioneer mature A Northwest student panel appeared on television to discuss Sophocles' Oedipus Rex, which they had been studying in English at the time. This panel was made up from seniors chosen by the English department. Also several pupils qualified to take part in the Exercise in Knowledge panel which ap- peared on television. Boys and GirI's State members for '65 were chosen from: C. Wilson, L. Switzer, E. Albro, L, Taylor, S. Criaer, T. Lane, K. Abbott, S. Cox, M. Godan, and S. Select Pioneers bring NHS to public light Northwest students were active this year in civic affairs. Two of our seniors, Kathy Bartels and Katrina Shipley, in company with students from several other city high schools, visited Governor Matthew VVelsh to interview and chat with hini. On November 13, the Optimist Club sponsored a Youth Achievement day. On this day, students from city high schools took over civic duties. Kathy Bartels and Dennis Harrold were given the jobs of director and controller at YVeir Cook Airport. They toured the airport, including the Control tower, an airplane, and the place where flights are schedul- ed and flight plans are made.
