Principal Kenneth Smart: hands awards to the reserve wrestling team during One Of the three annual awards day programs in the gymnasium. Tennis team acquires Valuable experience Mr. Jim Rodeheffer, tennis coach, greeted some fifteen turn outs for the first tennis meeting in early April. An optomistic outlook was taken for the season though only two boys had any previous varsity ex- perience. The team practiced at the Riverside tennis courts nearly every day and all through spring vaca- tion. The first five boys were chosen the day before the first match. During the season, the tennis team defeated Attucks, 7-O, and Scecina, 4-3. In the city tourna- ment, held at Tarkington Tennis Center, and River- side, only one boy had any success. Len McFarling, playing in the number 4 bracket, outlasted his op- ponent. However, Len was beaten in his second match to end the 1964 tennis season for N.H.S. There were five returning lettermen this spring and the team expected to improve their 2-6 record. 117
