,4 Small World of fanguagesg Mrs. Sprin.kle's Latin cl a sses are crowdedg Caesar's Gallic wars are fought daily, and all Gaul gets divided into more than three parts with am azing regularity. Latin I and II are offered to freshmen and sophomores chiefly, though upper classmen are generously sprinkled throughout many of the classes. A hundred fifty-five of our students choose to study Latin. Mr. Ivey wears a Tyrole an hatg his French car wears a Paris license plateg his classes e nte rt ain in assembly with French songs, skits, and monologuesg and his graduates bring home A's from college French. Only juniors and seniors may e le ct French, which is largely taught by the direct method.
