THE CLASS Oh 1962 PRESENTS THE CHIEFTAN BEFORE YOU BEGIN V This past year was another chapter in the bulging history of Northwest High School. Another year has come and gone and a record of our growth is now recorded on these pages before you. Much time and money has gone into this edition to bring to you a memory book of the 1961-62 school year. This book belongs to you. As a student, edu- cator, or citizen of the Northwest School district, you have as complete a record as possible of the modern school system in operation. To the Chieftain staff members and citizens of Northwest district, we wish you success in continu- ing the tradition of the Chieftain. To have this tradition you must first have effort, co-operation and support just as we, the 1961-62 Chieftain staff, have had. ' 1 I 7 0 2 DEDICATION We, the staff, of the 1962 Chieftain, on behalf of the senior class wish this book in honor of a man who has given our senior class pride, devotion, and determination to grow up to be respectable citizens of tomorrow. Although we are indebted to all faculty members and administra- tors, in all respects to their assistance in our education, we wish to give special mention to one teacher, Mr . Roy Ober, who has given four years to guiding us in our class to better citizens . Without his wisdom and assistance, it is quite possible that we would not have had the initiative to publish this book. Previous to our entering high school, Mr. Ober had contributed many years of continued service to the teaching profession and to Northwest High School. We wish Mr. Ober continued success in his teaching career in educating the young people of the Northwest School District. It is with great respect and admiration that we dedicate the 1962 Chief- tain to Mr . Roy Ober . 3 STANDING, LEFT TO RIGHT: Bev Geiger, Nancy Marzilli, Ada Ballard, Judy Hartsock, and sitting is Margie Fischnich.
