stepping stones 1977 NORTHWEST GEORGIA HIGH SCHOOL Trenton, Georgia The 1977 WOLVERINE In Search of Answers To Questions Unknown ... The ability and leadership of our fac- ulty through the years have truly smoothed the path and have made it a much easier one to trod. The Paths of Knowledge Lead Us Through The Corridors... of Northwest Georgia High School, on to the world beyond, to consider who we are, where we’ve been, and where we're going. Each has taken his own path, and with every step we draw nearer to our goal. Yet we must realize our future lies outside these halls, and with this realization we shall have taken another step toward our goal. V Traces of These Days Shall Remain ... All our memories have hazed now. yet. still they shall always remain with us in our brief recollections of Home- coming. band rehearsals, or just sitting in class. All are just stepping stones in our memories now. Feelings ... Each in his own simple, way. expresses his emotions, whether it be with a grin at three o’clock or a blank stare in math class. Together we have lived, but through it all we have learned. Cherished Moments Take Us Back ... The special occasions, the football games, the pep rallies, even the silly happenings in the classrooms take us back and add that extra something to all our lives. Students Live Life to the Utmost ... Time is a precious time and each of us used it in our own special way. yet each tried ultimately to gain the utmost from it at the moment, whether it was in a search for knowledge, or a quest for laughter. Each had its moments in our lives. The Moods of Our Minds Our moods are many and varied. The limes of enjoyment, of singing, feeling a warm breeze blow through ones hair, of just living are brought to mind as we remember our walk through life. Principal and Staff Mr Charles L. We didn't win the re- gion. but. led by Miss Sandy Payne we did capture the 1st Runner-Up title at the sub-region games in Lakeview this year. 85 Lady Wolverines On The Move The girls’ basketball team turned in a fine season. Attendance was high, and the enthusiasm of the fans helped our girls play their best. Although our sea- son ended at the region tournament, we feel we had a fine group of girls. Wolverine Baseball-1977 The Wolverines, under first year head coach. Dirt Brown, came up with another very impressive season. The Wolverines, who were State Runners-Up last year, moved up to Class AA and fought their way to another state playoff. In just two years of consol- idation. the Wolverines have won two Region Titles and have gone to the state play- offs in both years. We. the Yearbook Staff of Northwest Georgia, congratulate the Wolverines and encourage them to continue this winning tradition in our school. 88 Baseball 89 Front Row-Left to Right: Mark Stone.
