We Love Miafadc Originally for the alumni, homecom- ing festivities for most schools have been adapted in recent years to the student body, and Northwest is no exception. Selling mums, boutonnieres, bal- loons and such made a bustling and hustling of activities. Classes were temporarily forgotten as clubs prepared floats for the parade on October 28th. Incorporating the theme, Celebrate '78, the junior class won first place in the float competition. Probably the biggest event of the day was the crowning of Jo Chernicky as All-Sports Queen. Jo was elected by the school from seven candidates nominated by the O-Club. The day ended on a not-so-nice note, however, when the Knights lost the game against Putnam City, 40-O, ' ' K th K h Christie Boydston Debra Mcpherson a y oc Comeha Sanford

l CELEBRATE '78 is what won first prize for the Junior Class. They also sold balloons as a fund- raising project. LAST TIME for seniors has them holding hands around the gym for the singing ot the alma mater at the last pep assembly. 'L ---.- . - . , i - .K t.tt 18 - Homecoming

Every Monday morning advisory teachers read us the weekly calendar of events, and the one thing vve remembered was vvhen vve'd have a break in class for assemblies. Pep Council, composed of repre- sentatives trom pep clubs and faculty sponsors, made long range plans for pep assemblies tor home games. Skits were presented by various departments, such as Cry-Slurs and Modern Dancers, as well as by pep clubs. Cheerleaders and majorettes plan- ned the cheers and routines, and the Knightettes' drill team combined danc- ing and military movements to popular music for entertainment, lt takes a lot ot people and prepa- ration tor assemblies, activities direc- tor, Darrel Palmer, said, Ubut the stu- dents' reactions make it vvorthvvhilef' CAGED BEARS, Kim Koop and Christy Ander- son boost spirit in their advisory decorations during Spirit Week before the John Marshall Timo Cut game. JR'-far 20 ' Extra-curriculars A THREE RING CIRCUS provides entertainment for students at a pep assembly. Margaret Dean, Cindy Butler and her dog Crystal are featured attractions. TO GET a better view ot the scenery near Salt Lake City, Utah, Cry-Slurs Shari Little, Jan Lip- poldt, Pam Sorey and Linda Amick find a high spot.. Cry-Slurs sang at the Mormon Temple dur- ing the June concert tour.
