Dedication This edition of the Round Table, our first, is dedicated to beginnings. Beginning again is a fascinating procedure. Frequently we hear, Oh, if I could only start over, have another chance. Aware of this plaint we have sincerely tried to build wisely on a firm foundation so there can be no future regrets. Our student leaders have demonstrated courage, faith and understanding. There are many things we'll always remember, Those breathless pauses at the opening of each day when we listened reverently to inspiring devotionalsg Our ever-changing surroundings as the building progressed from day to day, Those outdoor pep rallies, sans uniformsg That first assembly in our beautiful auditoriumg The long, and loud, debates about choosing school colors, emblems, club names and pep club uniformsg The make-up time assigned for parking in the wrong parking lotg And never to be shared is the distinction of being a member of the first graduating class. To our seniors of 1956 this first volume is respectfully inscribed. May it hold memories that will make significant forever, this our first year at Northwest Classen. To student leaders who shaped our first year hereg To teachers who symbolize the ideals we shall cherishg But especially to the Class of '56 whose slogan,- Northwest Classen can never be greater than the sum of its parts, -may be a constant reminder to us, and to all future classes, that every student here is a part of the sum total. jo Ann Garrison will remain in the memory of future classes as the designer of the school emblem. -2-
