The desire to speak, write and read our native language intelligently is the hallmark of a true scholar. Ap- preciation of literature, poetry and drama may seem pretty square to teen-agers of the high school variety, but the experience results in a richer under- standing of books, the world at large, and the ability to judge people. Knowledge is of little use to us if we cannot effectively express ourselves to others.
