For in a true Christian atmosphere Christ can be elevated and represented on the athletic field as well as in any other phase of life. For here a boy learns about life itself---hard work, disappointment, cooperation, determination, and sportsmanship. Above all he must learn how to represent our Lord, on and off the athletic field. He must also learn to live his testimony as well as speak it. This past year at Northwest Christian, big steps have been taken to improve our athletic program. Tackle football was initiated in the fall, and Northwest Christian 's first high school football game was played at Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. Next was the basketball season with a full schedule of thirty games. Though we did not fair too well in the win column this year we are looking forward to next season when, with valuable experience we should show great improvement. In the spring track records were set for the first time, and baseball and golf were initi- ated. Slowly yet steadily our program is progressing. ln'summing up my own attitude and that of the players this past year, I think two scrip- ture verses are quite appropriate: Joshua l:9 and Phillipians 4:13. Mr. Russell Carr Our coach, Mr. Carr has helped us tremendously this year, and we can thank the Lord for sending him to us.
