Colleen Brewer has been one of the most prominent woman competitors of Northwest Catholic. On the court or on the track, she consistently displays an energetic style of competition. Colleen has not been associated with losing teams. Sophomore year was her first year of varsity competition. That team took the Hartford County Conference champi- onship in 1978. As a starting forward junior year, Colleen contributed to a 17-3 season. However, a leg injury put her out for a good part of the season. Colleen ' s vigor and personality won her the respect of her teammates as they voted her co-captain of her senior year team. Once again they were H.C.C. contenders. Colleen also competes in outdoor track where her suc- cess continues. She throws the javelin, but her main events are running. She runs in the one hundred meter, the hurdles, and the four by one ten relay. Her excep- tional all around athletic ability won her the Most Valuable Player in track her sophomore year. Her injury in basket- ball prevented her from retaining the distinguished honor in her junior year. However, Colleen competed 1 00% sen- ior year. Scholastically, Colleen maintained a steady B average. In school she was involved in the Social Actions Club and the Girls ' Leaders Club. Colleen ' s outstanding athletic achievements and per- sonable characteristics have earned her the admiration of her fellow students.
