The Varsity Cheerleaders spent five hours making posters for each teacher's door. This was to arouse spirit for the last football game between Central and Northwest. Wi C kt Pot Q Trojans, Trojans, What's Your Cry? V-I-C-T-0-R-Y! ! l Spirit Week was handled this year by the Student Council and the Cheerleaders. The main reason for Spirit Week is to increase spirit and enthusiasm. During Spirit Week we have competition among classes for points, but in addition to the competition between the classes we are all cheering for the Trojans. There were four events for accumulating points. The class with the most points at the end of Spirit Week is the winner. The four events that were held were a chug-a-lug contest, a wheelbarrow race by class officers, the annual spirit links that Student Council spends hours making, and the loudness of each class at the Pep Rally. The spirit links were on sale Monday through Thursday during lunch. Students 24 X Student Life could buy one spirit link for 5c. About S320 was raised and everyone enjoyed all the fun. At the beginning of Spirit Week there was a poster in the cafeteria to tell ev- eryone what to wear each day. Monday was Button Day, Tuesday was Sweat Day, Wednesday was Hat Day, Thursday was Hick Day, and Friday was Orange and Black Day. At the end of the Pep Rally for Spirit Week Jodie Pendleton announced that the Seniors had won. Congratulations go to the Seniors and to the Student Coun- cil and Cheerleaders for all their hard work to make Spirit Week '87 a success. In honor of Spirit Week a plaque was placed in the office giving the year and the winning class. Natalie Beam Jodie Pendleton shows her school spirit by wearing he party hat on hat day. Mark Forester, the Trojan mascot, prepares to help pu the Trojans through another Victory.
