Miss Merry hristmas 1.988 Christmas Dreams Can Come True was the theme for the 198 7-88 Miss Merry Christmas Pageant. The Northwest Chapter of the National Beta Club spon- sored the pageant which was held on N o- vember 10. The eight contestants who competed for the title of Miss Merry Christmas were judged in the following categories: tal- ent, evening gown, and interview. The young lady who had her Christmas dream come true was Miss Tymphany Ann Edwards. Tymphanyls talent was a contemporary dance on toe to Flash Dance . There was special entertainment be- tween competitions provided by Annette Turner, Miss Merry Christmas 1.987g Aimee Kennedy, reigning Miss Cabarrus Countyg Brandon and Beth Troutman, and dance troops from Goodman's School ofDance. Tymphany competed on December 1 with other area high school Christmas queens for the title of Kannapolis' Miss Merry Christmas. She was awarded this title after the parade. This makes the third consecutive year our queen has re- ceived the title of Kannapolis' Miss Merry Christmas!
