BOY4 JV Boys 8-C3 in Conference The Northwest Junior Varsity Boys Basketball Team, coached by Ivlr. John Harwood, had a satisfying season. Ending it with an 'l 'l -7 overall record and an B-I3 con- ference record was a rewarding ex- perience. As a result of all the hard work during after-school practices, the JV Trojans came in second in the conference tournament. With sophomores Bryan Jackson, Eric Sides, and Floldin lVlcl.ean, the JV team had some excellent players to depend upon. Bryan Jackson had an average of 15,8 points a game, and Eric Sides had an average of 5,6 points a game. Freshman Andrew Smith had an average of 'l 'l.E points a game. In the game against Charlotte Country Day, Bryan Jackson scored 24 points which pushed the Trojans to 2-4 in the season. The game ended in a E32-44 victory for the team. During the game against the JV Wonders, the first quarter looked hopeful with the score 'I 4- 'l I3 in favor of the Wonders. Even though the game ended with a loss, the Trojans played well with Bryan Jackson scoring 'I CJ points. Jeff Whitmire scored B, and Ivlichael IVloss scored S, With all of the experience the team has gained, next year's JV Trojans can look forward to a winning season. - C.L, MAULDEN BAND ROOM R Before a game the guys are showing that winning Trojan spirit. -I XV Northwest's Lady Trojans kept the crowds on the edge of their seats this year. Coached by lVlr. lVlarty Stamey, the J.V. girls basketball team held a scoring record of S-S. Northwest slipped by the Lady l-lornets SS-SS, with Suzanne Walker scoring nine points and Tasha Elwood scoring seven. Although the game didn't end in a victory over East Sowan, Suzanne Walker led with 'l S points. Against Forest l-lills, two outstanding Lady Trojans led Northwest by scoring in double figures. Suzanne Walker paced the Trojans with 'l S points while Emily Shepherd added 'I 'I points. The 'S7-SS season has been a learning experience for new members of the team.
