'l N Q TROJ A FEVER: Catch It! Led by senior lVlost Valuable Player Kurt Wessler, the 'l SB7 Varsity Baseball Team finished a deceiving season with a S and 'IC overall re- cord. The program was loaded with talent, but sometimes the breaks didn't go their way. Wessler pitched his way to a E-I3 re- cord, played flawlessly at second base, and was one of the hottest hitters in crucial game situations. Tim Allen pitched a 4-5 record. l-lard-nosed first baseman Willie Knox batted .24'l, leading the Trojans in hitting. Next was All- Conference shortstop Chad Combs with a .SSC average. With growing fan support, Coach Nlarty Stamey and his upcoming boys of the summer hope to lm- prove the program to its full potential and regain those past State Champi- onship days. The re- cord is held by his older brother, Randall Car- rington, and Bruce Jones. Nlichelle Rhyne has done this. What else has she done? She has broken the school record in both the shotput and the discus this year. She also broke the State Sectional record at Statesville in the shotput. Rhyne has not been beaten this year in the shotput. Yes, she will be back next year to break more records and win more titles. Roxanne Davis, a junior, broke the State Sectional record in the discus. Anthony Carrington, a junior, tied the 'ICJCJ meters at 'ICLS seconds. The record was held previously by Randall Carrington and Bruce Jones.
