In art class, principles such as line, proportion, harmony, rhythm, balance, form and color are studied through working in various media. Pencil and charcoal drawings begin the basic ideas of line. Work with pastels, tempera, water color, and oils, develop color coordination. Block printing, ceramics, sculp- ture, mosaics, and work with scrap materials add emphasis to principle of composition.
